Abstract

This research assessed the influence of motivation and career development on the
performance of employees in UNAMI as a case study. The research included motivation
factors, career development policies and job performance as well as motivation-performance
interactions in UNAMI. The survey covered a systematic sample of 20 UNAMI staff
respondents. The data were evaluated using descriptive and inferential statistical methods,
obtained using a standardized questionnaire. The survey indicated that the firm employs several
strategies to inspire its personnel. These include providing marginal benefits, payment of
bonuses to individuals who make further efforts, a sense of responsibility, the advancement of
industrious employees and the equitable treatment of workers. The research indicated that
motivation is the main element affecting the performance of employees. This is because the
majority of the respondents thought that motivation and career development are the major
influence on employee success. The results also showed that motivation makes employees
work more effectively and there is a direct and positive link between the motivation and career
development of employees and the performance of UNAMI personnel
