Abstract

The language competency test results obtained by ESL students who went on to enroll in undergraduate programs at New Zealand universities are taken into consideration in this research. The study examines the correlation between academic achievement and the aggregate scores obtained from IELTS and the university's internal English Proficiency Test, as well as the scores obtained for each of the four language skills. The findings showed that undergraduate academic success was significantly impacted by language competency
