Abstract

Based on the figures provided by the American Cancer Society, there is a noticeable increase in the incidence of bone cancers among young individuals. Common therapies for the condition include surgery and radiation, however these interventions are associated with various adverse effects that may significantly impact the patient's quality of life. Consequently, researchers have investigated a more cost-effective and lower risk treatment known as thermal ablation. The objective of this study is to quantify the therapeutic temperatures and assess the effectiveness of a double slot antenna specifically developed for microwave ablation treatment of bone tissue.
