Abstract
In fulfilling the duties of ministry by elders, adequate knowledge and skills are essential to ensure that the ministry is effective. Through effective ministry, the church will experience growth both spiritually and organizationally. Empirical observations indicate that the selection and appointment of elders often lack adequate knowledge and skills to carry out their ministry duties.
