Political Construction in the Mamanda Traditional Theater

Abstract

Mamanda, as a traditional entertainment still favored by the community, without realizing it has a space that can be used as a medium for delivering politics to the public through stories sung. This study aims to describe the political construction in Mamanda's traditional theater. This research was conducted by observing directly Mamanda performances which were held in various staging activities on the theme, one of which was the anniversary of the city of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan and on the theme of the Art and Culture Performance event leading to the General Election in the city of Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods because it will clearly and in detail describe its results.
