Abstract

Postmodernism, as a theory, began after the second world war, as a consequence of the terrible dehumanization that it brought about in the world. Like its predecessor modernism, postmodern works are fragmented and decentered. These works are deliberately ambiguous and do not easily convey a single meaning.
