Abstract

Hypothyroidism (HPT) is a frequent disorder of the endocrine system in humans. The prevalence of HPT has increased to affect a significant portion of the global population. HPT is a medical term that describes the inability of the thyroid gland to compete with the requirement of the body for thyroid hormone (T3 and T4). The main two etiological factors of HPT are iodine deficiency and Hashimoto’s disease.
