Power electronics can process electricity in the most economical and efficient manner, it plays a significant part in the transmission and utilisation of electrical power. Nevertheless, power electronic devices' nonlinear features result in two significant drawbacks: they produce harmonics and use utility lagging current. Unified power quality conditioners, or UPQCs, are being employed as a universal active power conditioning device to adjust reactive power and harmonics in recent years. An improved form of the unified power flow controller is called UPQC (UPFC).
