In response to the Syrian refugee crisis and its impact on the (Non-Governmental Organisations) NGO sector in Jordan, this paper explores transformation in NGOs governance and accountability due to the presence of Syrian refugees in Jordan using the framework of organisational transformation (Laughlin, 1991). This paper reports the findings of semistructured interviews with NGO board members and Syrian refugees in Jordan. The paper finds an environmental change happened in Jordan as a result of the presence and needs of Syrian refugees influencing NGOs and transforming their role, mission, governance, and accountability.
