According to Law number 32 of 2004 on Local Government, the city of Padang Panjang has set several laws and regulations concerning the welfare of its people, including regional regulation Number 3 of 2004 on the Prevention, Eradication, and Prosecution of Social Pathology. Social Pathology refers to the action/behavior of an individual or a group of people in the society which is unpleasant and or endangers the society as it is not in accordance with the applicable norms and customs. This paper discusses the implementation of the Sharia Regional Regulation No. 3 of 2004 on the Prevention, Eradication, and Prosecution of Social Pathology in Padang Panjang.
