Islamic finance is gaining recognition outside the Muslim world, including international financial institutions. However, the shortage of qualified specialists may hinder further development of the industry. On the one hand, higher educational institutions have an opportunity to fill a new niche. A growing number of educational institutions around the world offer training programs in Islamic finance and banking.
