This article focuses on some aspects of translating newspaper headlines on the economic and sports topics of the Spanish press. The relevance of the topic chosen for our study is determined by the necessity for in-depth study of the specifics of newspaper headlines of modern Spanish press, since it is the factor that affects the peculiarities of the translation of headlines from Spanish into Russian. The present research is intended to describe the lexical and grammatical features of the headlines of the Spanish press, which can facilitate the process of instructing translators. The linguistic analysis of empirical material and the survey methods have been implemented.
