Abstract

This study investigated the effects of ethical leadership on employees’ job satisfaction and affective commitment at a selected institution of higher education located in the Northeast Region of the United States of America during the management crisis year of 2021. The conceptualization of ethical leaders by Brown et al. (2005) brings about some aspects of transformational, charismatic, and transactional leadership. This is because ethical leadership accentuates behavioral attributes that create an idealized influence on subordinates, their jobrelated behaviors, attitudes, and interpersonal relationships. Causal research design was employed to measure the variations among variables and determine the nature of the relationship among them. The study revealed that there was a significant positive correlation among all variables. In particular, there was a significant positive strong relationship between Job Satisfaction and Affective Commitment, while the relationship between both Job Satisfaction and Ethical Leadership and Affective Commitment and Ethical Leadership were moderate.
