Abstract

Talking about the status of women in the Arabian Peninsula, we will find many and different opinions among researchers, and this difference came about the archaeological data in their hands that contradict to the point of not meeting. Another group contradicted the first opinion and detracted from the status of women. The researchers who were underestimating the Arab woman, through the phenomenon of wad, and this phenomenon mentioned in the Holy Qur’an did not affect females only, but included even male children in a state of extreme poverty. The Holy Qur’an states: {And do not kill your children for fear of poverty We will provide for them and you, if killing them was a great mistake} (1), the noble verse proves to us that the practice of infanticide was associated with fear of hunger and the effects of poverty more than with fear of captivity and shame.
