Women make up half of the human population and contribute to their families, communities, and countries. Although they are exalted in words, seen as symbols of power, and referred to as goddesses, women are subjugated as slaves in virtually every religion. Women are hardly ever disregarded in any aspect of life, and India is no different in this regard from other industrialized countries.
