The preservation of built heritage is a major challenge for the safeguarding of culture and history. Traditional fired-clay building materials, such as bricks and tiles, can contribute to this safeguarding. A study conducted by a team of researchers from the University of Constantine in Algeria showed that these materials have the following characteristics: durability, strength, versatility, and authenticity.
